Montana's Premier Constitutional Law Scholarship Fund

Treasure State Constitutional Law Fund

Montana's courts are broken. Great laws pass, then get tossed because we're short on real constitutional defenders. That's why the Treasurer State Constitutional Law Fund exists: to back law students dead-set on protecting our rights from rising radicalism. Scholarships fuel the fight, turning students into judges.

About The Scholarship

Building the Defenders We Need

We're awarding two five thousand dollar grants annually to rising law students who burn to defend constitutional principles against the tide of radicalism threatening our way of life. Funding that covers tuition, books, or clerkships, so you can dive deep into originalism, federalism, and the Second Amendment without the debt dragging you down. It's not charity, it's an investment in judges who'll strike down overreaching edicts, lawyers who'll litigate for liberty, and leaders who'll keep socialism's shadow away from big sky country.

Guidelines and How to Apply

Eligibility: Montana residents pursuing a JD at an accredited law school. Show us your fire for constitutional law-through essays, moot court wins, or internships defending constitutional rights.

What We Look For: Essays (five hundred words max) on a prompt like: How will you use your legal career to safeguard Montana's constitutional heritage from modern threats like centralized power grabs? Bonus for ties to public service or overcoming liberalbias in the field.

Application Deadlines: Rolling, but priority for fall starts-submit by May 2026 first for the next cycle. Applicants will need to supply a resume, copy college transcript, two reccomendations, and a response to our essay prompt. Recipients agree to a three-year post-grad practice in Montana, prioritizing public interest or judicial paths. We'll track your ascent!

Do you remember when Montana meant self-reliance?

Preserving the last best place.

Do you remember when Montana meant self-reliance? Or are you someone who moved here because of that promise... freedom without the nanny state, courts that read the words as they're written? Well, strong bills still reach the governor's desk: gun rights, parental choice, real limits on government sprawl. Yet nine times out of ten, they're quietly reversed by judges who never took an oath to ideology but somehow allow it to drive their decisions. We don't need to demonize anyone but we need balance. This fund intends to train the next clerk, the next AG, the next judge who won't flinch when the lobby calls. Invest once, and you're not just donating. You're anchoring Montana against drift, whoever's in power.
